Milan manager Massimiliano Allegri has been named Serie A’s Coach of the Month for November.

Massimiliano Allegri instilled ‘winning mentality’ into Milan players

The Rossoneri boss won the accolade after steering his side to 10 points from four games.

Milan began the month by beating Roma 1-0, before playing out a 2-2 draw at Parma.

Admittedly, the Parma result was disappointing because Milan led 2-0 before being pegged back.

However, the San Siro side returned to winning ways with 1-0 triumphs over arch-rivals Inter and against Lazio.

Serie A confirmed they will present the award before Milan’s clash with Sassuolo at San Siro on Sunday.

The prize is decided by a jury of sports media directors, who evaluate technical results, overall performance levels and behaviour & fair play across the month.

Serie A CEO Luigi De Siervo said: “The exciting head-to-head battle at the top of the league also leads to a constant competition between the great Serie A managers.

“In November, Massimiliano Allegri came out on top with 10 points from four games, keeping a clean sheet in all three of the direct clashes he won.

“The Tuscan coach has managed to get the best out of the players at his disposal, setting up a well-organised team capable of reading the different moments of the game.

“Allegri’s Milan are showing a winning mentality and a newfound awareness of their own abilities. Characteristics necessary to fight for the top of the table until the end of the season.”

On Thursday, Cremonese striker Jamie Vardy won the Serie A Player of the Month for November.

How Luka Modric feels about working with Max Allegri

Last summer, Milan snapped up one of the greatest midfielders of all time in Luka Modric.

Milan are Modric’s favourite team, and he recently branded them the “biggest” Italian club.

Modric also loves Allegri as he sung the Italian’s praises to Gazzetta dello Sport.

“He’s a great coach, a winner,” said Modric. “I enjoy working with him, and he surprised me with his personality.

“He has an amazing ability to create a good feeling in the dressing room because he’s used to managing great champions.

“He helps you to give your best and keeps you calm. So it’s easier to do what you need to do.”
