As reported by Corriere dello Sport, Milan owner Gerry Cardinale and first-team head coach Ruben Amorim want to extend the contracts of Adrien Rabiot and Christian Pulisic.

Both players are on the tail end of their respective deals, and Amorim, who deems them central to his project at San Siro, wants to eliminate all possible uncertainity regarding their future.

Rabiot’s contract, which nets him a gross wage of €9.26 million, runs until June 2028. Pulisic, meanwhile, has entered the final 12 months of his €5.13m-per-year deal.

Another thing that is central to these two being a big part of Milan’s future is their profile. They are both senior players in their own right as well as versatile midfielders.

While Rabiot mostly occupies spots further back up the pitch, he can play as a marauding No. 8 and has even been used out wide, most notably by Didier Deschamps in the France setup.

Pulisic, similarly, is no stranger to leadership expectations. Dubbed “Captain America” not long after starting his playing career, the USMNT attacking midfielder is a key part of the setups for both club and country. He, too, is positionally flexible as an attacker and can play both centrally, be it in lead or support roles, or out wide on either flank.
