Guglielmo Vicario has entered talks over a return to Serie A after a difficult period with Tottenham Hotspur.
Guglielmo Vicario Unhappy In Premier League
The Italian shot-stopper has endured a difficult few weeks in North London and Vicario’s spell with Tottenham Hotspur could be coming to an end in 2026.
After a costly error during Spurs’ 2-1 defeat by Fulham on November 29th, the 29-year-old was the recipient of boos from the home crowd.
Receiving this level of criticism from his own supporters has reportedly left the Italian feeling unsettled in England and Vicario is now pushing for a January exit.
Tottenham’s overall form in the 2025/26 campaign has been extremely underwhelming, sitting 11th in the table and failing to win in their last five league matches.
Multiple stars have been linked with a move away from the club, with Mathys Tel attracting interest from Roma and Vicario may follow suit.
Another factor that could play a part in the Italian’s future is the possible dismissal of Thomas Frank, as the Dane is on thin ice as Tottenham Hotspur manager.
Frank took the reins before the beginning of this season after an impressive spell with Brentford, but has failed to bring this level of performance to North London.
If Spurs decide to keep the Danish coach for the remainder of the season, then Vicario could be looking for a way out in January – targeting a move back to Serie A.

Guglielmo Vicario Pushes For Serie A Return
Vicario left Italy in July 2023 after making 73 Serie A appearances during his spells with Empoli and Cagliari.
His profile as an elite European shot-stopper has risen tremendously since moving to England, meaning Vicario is looking to join a top Italian side in 2026.
The 29-year-old is reportedly being monitored by Inter Milan and Vicario is said to have entered talks with the Nerazzurri.
Cristian Chivu is targeting a new shot-stopper, being linked with young USMNT goalkeeper Chris Brady who has been viewed as a long term replacement for Yann Sommer.
Vicario would be a signing for the present at 29-years-old and Inter would need to submit a substantial bid for the Italian as the Italian still has three-years remaining on his current deal.
If the Nerazzurri make an approach in January then Spurs are said to be looking for around €40million – but this could drop to €30m in the summer.
