For the first time in a good amount of time, former Juventus president Andrea Agnelli has been a main character in the Juventus discourse over the span of the last couple of days. That is a result of midweek rumors saying that Agnelli, who stepped down as president in November 2022 amidst the plusvalenza investigation into the club, is potentially plotting a return to Juventus \u2014 the that his family has owned since the 1920s \u2014 in a majority ownership role after buying out shares from the family holding company, Exor.<\/p>\n
Since those rumors have come out, Exor have denied the rumors and (briefly) stated that there is nothing happening with Agnelli taking over as Juve\u2019s majority owner.<\/p>\n
But that still begs the question: How would we, the BWRAO community, feel about a potential Agnelli return and in a role where he\u2019s even more the head honcho than he was during his 12-year tenure as president?<\/p>\n
Considering everything that happened over the course of his time at Juventus \u2014 especially the last few years before he and the rest of the board resigned during the 2022 World Cup break \u2014 there\u2019s certainly a decent amount of bad to rival all of the good he did to bring Juventus back to the top of Italian football in such a quick fashion. <\/p>\n
Plus, it\u2019s not exactly an easy transaction to complete to begin with considering Agnelli would certainly need a good chunk of outside financial backing \u2014 with the rumors saying that said money could come via Red Bull, who have been wanting to get involved with a club in Serie A and have been previously linked to acquiring a stake in Torino \u2014 to actually be able to put these rumored wheels in motion. (You know, like Exor main man and Agnelli\u2019s cousin John Elkann loves to see with the Ferrari Formula 1 team \u2014 something that certainly seems to have much more of his attention these days.)<\/p>\n
So, we ask the question: How open would you be to Andrea Agnelli coming back to Juve?<\/p>\n
