Today is the first day of June. That means Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic is officially in the final month of the big-money contract he signed when he made his even bigger-money move from Fiorentina in January 2022. As we\u2019ve been hearing for a few months now, Juventus would actually like to extend that contract, but really only under the conditions that they feel best suits them after Vlahovic was the highest paid player in Serie A the last couple of years.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

As we head into the final weeks of Vlahovic\u2019s deal, it looks as though we\u2019re about to find out whether that extension is actually going to happen.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

According to Sky Sport Italia\u2019s Gianluca Di Marzio,<\/a> Juventus and Vlahovic\u2019s camp \u2014 most notably his father \u2014 will have a \u201cfinal\u201d meeting regarding a potential contract extension that would keep the Serbian striker in Turin beyond the month of June. At this point, Vlahovic actually renewing with Juve seems rather unlikely, with Di Marzio describing it as \u201cthere is little optimism about the 2000-born player\u2019s continued presence.\u201d But the two sides will talk about things one final time, per Di Marzio, to see if there can be any sort of progress made amidst reports that Vlahovic has been offered to other clubs both Serie A and abroad around Europe.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

As has been previously reported, Juventus have essentially extended an offer to Vlahovic that is for a short-term contract extension. It is one that is, according to reports, a two-year deal that would run through 2028, with Juventus also wanting to cut Vlahovic\u2019s Serie A-high \u20ac12 million net salary in half to a much more club-friendly figure of \u20ac6 million (or thereabouts).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

That seems to be something that Vlahovic isn\u2019t exactly all that keen on. And that certainly seems to be the case as time has gone in this spring. There was momentum a couple of months ago when it looked like the two sides could very well be set to work out some sort of agreement and keep Vlahovic in bianconero, but that has certainly faded as time has gone on since then.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Vlahovic looks like he will be part of the latest remaking of Juventus\u2019 attack in which there\u2019s plenty of departures and arrivals. As Di Marzio mentions, Randal Kolo Muani is part of those plans, with Juve circling back to a player in which they wanted to bring in all of last summer before Paris Saint-Germain\u2019s demands became just too much to make a deal worth it. But after a relatively sluggish year on loan at Tottenham, Kolo Muani has returned to PSG and Juventus hope that 12 months later there\u2019s a much better deal for a player who is still rather interested in coming back to Turin to play his football.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
