If you haven\u2019t figured it out by now, Contract Extension Season has officially started rolling through the Juventus headquarters at Continassa. They\u2019ve gotten their biggest young star, Kenan Yildiz, to sign onto a new deal (with a very nice salary bump). They\u2019re reportedly set to offer one of their best players this season, Weston McKennie, a new contract and prevent losing him for free this coming summer. And now, it looks like another one of those standout performers could be in for a new deal, too.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
According to a pair of reports from Italian transfer reporter Nicolo Schira over the past few days, Juventus have opened contract talks with defender Pierre Kalulu over a new deal that would run through 2030 and give the 25-year-old Frenchman a nice raise. Kalulu is currently not in the top 10 earners<\/a> when it comes to Juventus\u2019 payroll for the 2025-26 season, and that is something that could very well change as rumors of interest from numerous Premier League clubs like Manchester United and others only continue despite the winter transfer window coming to an end nearly two weeks ago.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Kalulu\u2019s current contract, one that he signed when he made his move from AC Milan permanent following the 2024-25 season, runs through 2029 and pays him a reported \u20ac2.5 million net per year.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Here is the first part of the equation from Schira from over the weekend \u2026<\/p>\n<\/div>\n All of four days later, we got another Kalulu-related update from Schira regarding contract talks \u2026<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Kalulu is currently in the midst of arguably the best season of his still-young career. Besides the simple fact that he has played every single minute of every single game for Juventus so far this season \u2014 seriously, when the guy is going to get a game off? \u2014 he has already set a career-high total in assists (4) and has scoored more than a single goal in a campaign for the first time thanks to his 96th-minute header against Lazio this past weekend.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n That, of course, is on top of his generally quality play defensively to begin with.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n For all of the misses that Cristiano Giuntoli had during his time as Juventus\u2019 sporting chief, Kalulu is easily one of his best hits on the transfer market. He arrived from Milan on a season-long loan deal for \u20ac3 million, then had a buy option of just \u20ac14 million two summers ago. It was an easy decision \u2014 and he\u2019s only adding to the value that he has amassed over the last 18 months with how he\u2019s played.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Would a big-money offer from one of England\u2019s richest clubs be tempting? Of course it would. But with how Kalulu has played ever since he\u2019s put on a Juventus jersey, it\u2019s pretty clear to see that he\u2019s become quite the important piece to this squad \u2014 and locking him down for a contract as long as Yildiz\u2019s sounds like a good thing.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
