Nottingham Forest have quickly made a breakthrough for Napoli striker Lorenzo Lucca, with the player flying to England today for his medical.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Speculation linking Forest and Lucca had been intensifying in recent weeks, though it seemed touch-and-go at times.<\/p>\n

Lucca preferred an Italy stay, seemingly making Pisa the frontrunners. But today, things changed drastically.<\/p>\n

Napoli preferred Forest\u2019s bid, because they offered an option to buy. Meanwhile, Pisa were \u2018sidelined\u2019 due to their straight loan option.<\/p>\n

Then, Lucca\u2019s stance on Forest changed over the course of the day, putting the Reds firmly in the driver\u2019s seat.<\/p>\n

And now, Fabrizio Romano has shared the big development \u2013 namely the \u201chere we go\u201d.<\/p>\n

Fabrizio Romano declared \u201chere we go\u201d on Lorenzo Lucca to Nottingham Forest on Thursday afternoon.<\/p>\n

He claimed that the Reds would pay Napoli \u20ac1m to begin with, for Lucca to join on loan until the end of the season.<\/p>\n

Then, should Lucca shine at Forest, they have the option to buy him for \u20ac40m. This is not mandatory, added Romano.<\/p>\n

And just to show how quickly the deal is moving, the transfer insider said Lucca will be making his way to England today for his medical.<\/p>\n

David Ornstein of The Athletic also corroborated Romano\u2019s report, saying Lucca will be flying from Naples this evening.<\/p>\n

Why Napoli are already offloading Lorenzo Lucca<\/h2>\n

Napoli signed Lorenzo Lucca from Udinese in the summer on an initial loan, paying \u20ac9m up front and agreeing an obligation to buy.<\/p>\n

That obligation was for \u20ac26m plus \u20ac5m in add-ons, and it became active once Napoli earned their first league points of 2026.<\/p>\n

However, Lucca has not matched that price tag with his performances, which has increased pressure on both player and club.<\/p>\n

The 25-year-old has started only four Serie A games, scoring once, and he has fallen steadily down the pecking order.<\/p>\n

Napoli have grown frustrated with Lucca\u2019s performances, especially with Romelu Lukaku only just back from injury.<\/p>\n
