Since Luciano Spalletti took over as manager at Juventus, Weston McKennie has been one of the Bianconeri\u2019s best players. That\u2019s on top of being a very good player under previous managers no matter how much he\u2019s been bounced in and out of the squad\u2019s present and future plans.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
That looks to be changing.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
According to reports from ilBianconero\u2019s Romeo Agresti<\/a> and Italian transfer reporter Nico Schira<\/a> over the last 24 hours, Juventus are set to re-open contract talks wtih McKennie and his camp in the near future. When that will be still remains to be seen, but Juventus are reportedly circling back to contract talks with a player that Spalletti clearly values and somebody who has come to the forefront of the Bianconeri\u2019s success under their new manager over the last two months.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Or, as Agresti posted on social media: \u201cJuve won\u2019t give up and will try to play its cards.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Under Spalletti, McKennie has been playing some of his best ball as a Juventus player. Since the beginning of November, McKennie has scored four goals in all competitions, the most recent coming in Juve\u2019s 5-0 thrashing of Cremonese this past Monday night. He has, as seems to be the norm these last few years, done it in a variety of positions, too \u2014 which is not a surprise at all.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n And as his form has only seemingly gotten better, the calls for McKennie\u2019s contract to be extended by the club have only gotten louder and louder by those who support Juventus.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n McKennie reportedly has interest from the three big clubs in Turkey \u2014 Fenerbahce, Besiktas and Galatasaray \u2014 as well as other clubs around Europe\u2019s top five leagues, according to TuttoJuve\u2019s Mirko Di Natale<\/a>. But, as he said in a recent interview during an event for his charity, McKennie has made it be known that his desire is to stay in Turin and extend his contract with Juventus. He has maintained that he will leave these types of things up to his agent and he will let negotiations play out as he continues to focus on on-field happenings.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n At this point, though, the more McKennie plays like he is right now, the more there will be a call for the club to reward him for being one of the squad\u2019s best players and such a loyal servant as well. Plus, you know that Spalletti\u2019s desire to keep the player beyond this season \u2014 which seems pretty much a given at this point \u2014 is going to be something that the new-look front office will hopefully try and make happen.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
