We are now a full week into 2026 and the January transfer window. It is becoming even the more obvious that there is very much smoke when it comes to the growing fire of rumors that involve Juventus trying to bring back Federico Chiesa all of 18 months after they sold him to Liverpool.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

According to Sky Italia\u2019s Gianluca Di Marzio on Thursday night<\/a>, Juventus have yet to make an offer for their former No. 7 who now wears red on a regular basis. (Although, as we saw Thursday night, doesn\u2019t exactly play all that often these days.) Juventus\u2019 main desire was to try and bring Chiesa back to Turin on short-term loan deal with an option to buy. But, that could very well change slightly, with Di Marzio saying the Bianconeri front office are continuing their push to bring Chiesa in this month and could offer a deal that is the same loan with option to buy formula that becomes an obligation to buy under certain conditions.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

What those conditions might be probably aren\u2019t that hard to figure out \u2014 appearances or minutes played, potential Champions League qualification, etc. \u2014 but Di Marzio maintains that Liverpool will only listen to offers for Chiesa if it involves a permanent deal. The reported price that Liverpool want for Chiesa is between \u20ac12 million and \u20ac15 million.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

If you want to know where Chiesa stands in the pecking order, he was once again an unused sub in Liverpool\u2019s scoreless draw against Premier League leaders Arsenal on Thursday night. Another 90 minutes came and went, and Chiesa only touched the field during pre-game warmups and then after the final whistle when he shook the hands of his teammates. How much longer those players are still his teammates remain to be seen.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

There aren\u2019t a ton of players being linked with a January move to Juventus right now, but Juventus are clearly trying to make a Chiesa reunion happen. Chiesa has extra motivation to return to Serie A \u2014 be it with Juve or with somebody else like Roma or Napoli \u2014 considering he wants like hell to get back into the Italian national team picture ahead of possible World Cup qualification. That\u2019s not going to happen if he\u2019s still stuck to the bench with Liverpool much more often than not.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

For now, though, we\u2019re still waiting for an offer to actually happen. Then things could very well be put in motion.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
