The latest Inter Milan news has revealed that two Nerazzurri<\/em> supporters have been sacked from their intern roles at Sky Sport 24.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Both juniors were dismissed after being caught live on air celebrating an injury-time Martin Frese own goal. That meant Inter recorded a priceless 2-1 win against Verona on matchday 10.<\/p>\n

The Inter Milan stats from the first ten matchdays suggest the Nerazzurri<\/em> could go on and win the Serie A title this season. Especially after the late and fortunate winning goal against Verona on November 2.<\/p>\n

That feeling was likely shared by two Sky Sport 24 interns who couldn\u2019t contain their joy during a live broadcast on Sunday afternoon.<\/p>\n

As the game entered its final moments, the presenter was providing an update from the Stadio Marcantonio Bentegodi when Martin Frese deflected the ball into his own net.<\/p>\n

This prompted the interns to joyfully celebrate behind the scenes. Eagle-eyed viewers could see the interaction before the pair shuffled out of view of the main camera.<\/p>\n

Later on, the duo were told to pack their bags and leave the studio. Naturally, this prompted a variation of opinions on the topic with many believing it to be harsh. Some believed it was justified owing to a lack of neutrality and professionalism.<\/p>\n

Soccer Supporters React As Sky Sport 24 Interns Sacked<\/h2>\n

Inter Milan have now won six of their last seven Serie A games and are pushing hard to reach the summit in Italy\u2019s elite soccer division.<\/p>\n

Against Verona, emotions were clearly running high when Martin Frese steered the ball past his own goalkeeper which resulted in a number of celebrations. Including the two Sky Sport 24 interns.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey are interns surely this isn\u2019t a big deal, reprimand them sure but firing seems over the top<\/em>,\u201d one supporter blasted on Reddit.<\/p>\n

\u201cProhibited to have employees who support Inter<\/em>,\u201d another added on X<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201cIs it forbidden to cheer for your own team?<\/em>\u201d Said another user on the social media platform.<\/p>\n

However, not everybody who witnessed the incident was so forgiving: \u201cIt\u2019s right to have fired them, you do journalism and you should be objective and neutral even towards your own team, if you don\u2019t do it you\u2019ve chosen the wrong job<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n

What Did The Sky Sport 24 Director Have To Say?<\/h2>\n

Italian journalist Francesco Ordine explained on X<\/em> that the Sky Sport 24 director was quick to blast the behavior of the two interns.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cThe Director of Sky Sport, Federico Ferri, intervened promptly by sending the two ultra interns home and signing a very tough internal circular on the extremely delicate matter<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n

An extract of the letter condemned the incident. It also served as a reminder that such behavior won\u2019t be tolerated whilst working for Sky Sport 24. No matter the capacity of the position held.<\/p>\n

\u201cDear colleagues, today the editorial staff was the protagonist of a scene unworthy of our profession and of the prestige and seriousness that distinguish and should distinguish Sky Sport<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI say \u2018the editorial staff\u2019, meaning all of us, because for the people outside, there aren\u2019t individual perpetrators, but Sky Sport, period. And when one of us makes a fool of ourselves, we all make a fool of ourselves<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201cCelebrating a goal by any team, whatever it is, in any match, and putting on bar-room or stadium-style antics (unfortunately, this also applies to the press boxes, but that\u2019s another matter) is always unacceptable, especially if the scene ends up on air<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Inter Milan News \u2013 Will The Club Defend The Interns?<\/h2>\n

It\u2019s highly unlikely Inter Milan will say anything on the matter as it was nothing to do with the club itself. Although the decision to sack the Nerazzurri<\/em>-supporting issues has been deemed harsh, it\u2019s a Sky Sport 24 decision.<\/p>\n

If they have been in breach of their contracts, the outcome is hard to challenge. Naturally, journalists and reporters must remain neutral. No matter if their respective team scores a last-minute winner like on November 2.<\/p>\n

With that said, it is common to see ex-pros who have turned pundits celebrate. Especially in England\u2019s Premier League with Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher.<\/p>\n

However, Italy clearly has a very different stance. In particular when it comes to interns who are learning the ropes. Discipline is vital to succeed and slack clearly won\u2019t be given in such matters.<\/p>\n

Nonetheless, if the pair were to reach out to Inter, it may help in their case to reclaim their positions. With that said, it\u2019s debatable whether they would want to explore the opportunity to go back.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
