Despite the win, manager Gian Piero Gasperini\u00a0 has highlighted the need for Roma to get better and that they stagnated towards the end of the tie.<\/p>\n
The Italian spoke to reporters in the post-game press conference and when asked about Pellegrini, he said (via TMW<\/strong>):\u00a0<\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cI started thinking about it on Tuesday or Wednesday. In training, I see a strong player; we need to develop him into an athlete with personality and great performances.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n \u201cHe\u2019s 29 years old, he has everything it takes to do well: he plays with little effort because he has quality. Today he came off due to cramps. He could be an excellent player from an athletic standpoint.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n Gasperini reveals that Roma made some poor decisions across the game and they need to sort some things out.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cWe need to get our heads together a bit: we made some poor decisions at that point. We could have scored more goals, but instead we took risks: those were some awful minutes at the end. The light went off a bit, but I hope we can fix it.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n The veteran was asked about whether they put something extra into the performance today after the loss to Torino.<\/p>\n He said: \u201cWe didn\u2019t prepare well for the match, but this team didn\u2019t disappoint. We need to improve in terms of quality, we need to expand the squad: we have seven or eight competitive players. We need to make progress quickly.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Roma have now won three games in the league, with Lazio having won just once so far in the campaign.
