Serie A side Roma couldn\u2019t do much on deadline day in the summer transfer window and this had attracted speculation from Corriere dello Sport about Gian Piero Gasperini not being entirely happy with sporting director Ricky Massara.<\/p>\n

The newspaper reported that the manager was promised signings that would elevate the level of the squad but that hasn\u2019t quite happened.<\/p>\n
In Roma\u2019s press conference today, the Italian boss was asked about his relationship with the club and with Massara. He made it clear that everyone has been open about things from their end, calling for synery between everyone.<\/p>\n

He said, via Gazzetta: \u201cWe have always had a shared vision with the club. We haven\u2019t been able to achieve everything, but we\u2019ve been very open to help on all fronts.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n When specifically asked about his relationship with Massara, Gasperini said: \u201cRumors of tension with Massara? We have two different jobs; I understand the transfer market difficulties and the strategies for when to push or when to bluff. I don\u2019t participate in negotiations because that\u2019s not my job, but there needs to be synergy between the coach, the owner, and the sporting director. I must say that the club\u2019s presence has been greater than in recent years, and that\u2019s crucial for me.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n The manager was also asked about why Roma chose not to sign unproven players and only wanted established players, especially on deadline day.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n He said: \u201cAs often happens, the final hours of the transfer window are always the most difficult ones, where perhaps all the clubs try to solve the problem in a few hours what can\u2019t be done in many weeks.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n \u201cRoma still had the desire and, if you like, the need to make some deals.
