After bringing Noa Lang in from PSV, Antonio Conte’s side tried to sign Dan Ndoye but ultimately missed out due to a more significant financial package on the table from Nottingham Forest.

While Chiesa remains a tempting fallback, the Partenopei are reportedly hesitant due to both tactical and financial concerns.

Conte may favor a winger with stronger defensive instincts to balance his attack. Chiesa’s work rate has dipped in recent seasons, and unless his physical capacity drastically improves, Napoli might allocate their funds to other areas – especially in midfield or at full-back.

That said, Napoli – currently 11/4 favorites to win the Scudetto according to offshore betting sites – may yet make a late move if other plans fall through.

Inter

It’s no secret that Inter have their sights firmly set on Atalanta’s Ademola Lookman. But should the deal not materialize, Chiesa could quickly re-enter their plans.

His profile fits Inter’s attacking needs well, and while his salary is hefty, the Nerazzurri are one of the few Serie A sides that could handle it – with some restructuring.

Chiesa wouldn’t bring Lookman’s explosiveness, but his ability to complement Inter’s other forwards could make him a smart fallback.

Juventus

Despite a complicated departure last year, Chiesa didn’t entirely burn bridges with Juventus. And with a new management team and coach in Igor Tudor, a return isn’t completely off the table.

The club’s interest will depend on whether Nicolas Gonzalez is sold. If so, the Bianconeri may revisit Chiesa as a more budget-friendly alternative to more difficult targets like Jadon Sancho.

A humbled Chiesa – perhaps one willing to accept lower wages – could be a valuable asset in a high-tempo Juventus side.

Milan

Chiesa has long been on Milan’s radar, and the Rossoneri may have the finances available to pull off a deal.

However, with Samuel Chukwueze, Christian Pulisic, and Alexis Saelemaekers in the squad – not to mention Rafael Leao – the room for another winger is limited.

Unless Milan offloads one or two wide players, Chiesa may find himself in a situation not unlike Liverpool: struggling for minutes.

Roma

From all the options available, perhaps it’s Roma that seems the most natural fit. There’s a gap on the wing, and Chiesa would slot straight into Gian Piero Gasperini’s system.

However, the Giallorossi are aiming younger this summer, and Chiesa’s injury track record could deter them from making a move.

He’d need to take a pay cut, but Roma has a solid history of reviving careers, as does Gasperini, and if Chiesa is willing to bet on himself, the Italian capital might be the best place to do it.

Atalanta

Alternatively, there is Gasperini’s former club, Atalanta. With Lookman expected to leave, Atalanta will need another creative force in attack.

Kamaldeen Sulemana has already joined this summer, but there’s room for one more. Chiesa would be a marquee addition, but his salary likely puts him out of reach.

Also, if reports are to be believed, Chiesa himself isn’t particularly sold on Bergamo as a destination. Unless his options dwindle, it’s hard to see this move materializing.

The post Where Will Federico Chiesa Go Next?
