Anybody who has even the slightest bit of attention to Juventus\u2019 summer will have noticed that the market around Dusan Vlahovic is … not exactly piping hot. For a host of reasons, Vlahovic has become somewhat of an outlier in a striker market that has seen big names already move to new clubs for a whole lot of money.<\/p>\n
But, as the month of July gets set to enter its final week, Vlahovic and his very large, Serie A-high salary are still at Juventus.<\/p>\n
That means we are essentially looking for any glimmer of hope that some sort of resolution could materialize. And what do you know? Juventus have reportedly \u2014 albeit indirectly \u2014 been talking with an old friend about potentially finding Vlahovic a new home.<\/p>\n
According to SportItalia\u2019s Alfredo Pedulla on Wednesday night<\/a>, Juventus and AC Milan have held talks about a potential move for Vlahovic. Said move, as you might expect, would be far from a simple one considering that so much of the market around Vlahovic has boiled down to his massive \u20ac12 million net salary and reported unwillingness to lower it for most teams that might even have the slightest bit of interest in signing him. But with Milan, things might be different. New (and old) Milan manager Max Allegri wants to bring Vlahovic to the San Siro, according to Pedulla. And the feeling is mutual from Vlahovic\u2019s point of view as well.<\/p>\n To make it happen, Juventus would want a transfer fee around \u20ac20 million with Vlahovic now officially being in the final year of his contract.<\/p>\n Another key detail, according to Pedulla, is potential severance pay Juve would have to give Vlahovic if he were to move and reduce his salary \u2014 which could complicate a deal even further.<\/p>\n Milan have reportedly wanted to sign Vlahovic for the past few weeks, but the biggest sticking point has been the elephant in the room: his league-high salary that weighs heavily on Juventus\u2019 books at the current moment. Milan are unwilling to pay him anything close to that, and Vlahovic has shown that he isn\u2019t going to sign a contract extension to help spread that out over another season \u2014 something that Juve have done a handful of times in the past with other players.<\/p>\n Pedulla notes: \u201cIndirect contacts include, at the very least, a desire to make a move, in the hope of reaching a full agreement.\u201d<\/p>\n
