Rather than paying the €30 million release clause, Juventus will end up forking over €32 million to Porto — which will be paid over the course of four years, according to Fabrizio Romano and Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio. The extra couple of million is something that, according to reports, is allowing Juve to spread out their payments rather than doing it over the next year or two. Conceição is also reportedly giving up a 20% stake in the deal to ensure that he stays in Turin with Juventus.

Over the last couple of days, it has also been reported by multiple outlets that Conceição rejected a potential move to the Premier League in hopes of securing a permanent move to Juventus.

According to TuttoJuve’s Mirko Di Natale, Juventus’ bid of around €27 million was rejected by Porto earlier in the day, thus forcing the Bianconeri to up the cost one more time if they wanted to be ensure Conceição was going to be staying around beyond this summer. Juve did just that — and now they know that Conceição will, in fact, be signing on a permanent basis in a matter of days.

So there you have it, folks.

Juventus have completed their second signing of the summer in attack, with only an official announcement to go. That seems simple enough — especially with all of the important details now out of the way and Conceição set to sign on more than just a season-long loan deal.

Don’t forget an important piece to the puzzle: Conceição’s buyout clause would have reportedly gone up to €45 million come Wednesday, so it was a matter of hours before Juventus would have likely had a little less leverage in the situation. You know full well Porto would have tried to take full advantage of that, too.

With Conceição secured for the 2025-26 season (and hopefully well beyond) and Jonathan David also signed earlier this month, Juventus’ attacking is starting to come into focus. It’s not done yet, but it’s getting there. And now with the Club World Cup now out of the way for everybody, it does feel like business is about to pick up.

Source link

On the final day in which his release clause was reportedly sitting at €30 million, Juventus agreed to make an investment that secured Francisco Conceição’s future.
