Milan CEO Giorgio Furlani expressed discontent after the club\u2019s Coppa Italia final defeat to Bologna.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Speaking to Sport Mediaset<\/strong> via Gianluca Di Marzio<\/strong>, Furlani congratulated Bologna for lifting the Coppa Italia trophy and then reflected on an underwhelming season for Milan. He said: \u201cLet me congratulate Bologna. I have to say three things: this is a failed season. Number two, we have to close this championship in the best possible way, even though we are far from our objectives. Third thing: let\u2019s share the disappointment with our fans and let\u2019s not hide because we have made several mistakes.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n The Rossoneri would have wanted to challenge for the top four at the start of the campaign but a string of mediocre results have now left them out of the European places in the Serie A table.\u00a0<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Milan failed to progress in the Champions League and are now relying on the results of other clubs to salvage a European spot for next season.\u00a0<\/p>\n Furlani and Milan fans alike were expecting their side to clinch the Coppa Italia after beating Inter to lift the Supercoppa Italiana earlier in the campaign. The accolade would have guaranteed them a place in the Europa League group stages but Bologna earned their right to feature in the competition thanks to Dan Ndoye\u2019s goal.\u00a0<\/p>\n Four points separate Milan from 4th-placed Juventus and though chances are slim, it is still mathematically possible for Sergio Conceicao\u2019s men to land a Champions League spot.\u00a0<\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n
