Alexander Sørloth is back on Juventus’ agenda as Luciano Spalletti seeks a traditional centre-forward and talks with Atletico resume.
Juventus have resumed discussions with Atletico Madrid over Alexander Sørloth, as the club continue their search for a new centre-forward.
The renewed contact has followed Luciano Spalletti’s strong criticism of Randal Kolo Muani, who joined Juventus permanently from PSG.
Juventus are exploring options before the transfer window closes, with Sørloth now back on the club’s agenda.
Spalletti is said to want another attacking option and prefers a more traditional centre-forward profile.

Why Sørloth Is Back On Juventus’ Agenda
Spalletti had pushed for several months for Kolo Muani’s arrival, but the Juventus coach is now looking for another reinforcement in attack.
Kolo Muani returned to Turin from PSG in a permanent deal worth €38m plus €12m in add-ons, making him Juventus’ most expensive signing of the summer.
The current preference appears to be Sørloth rather than Manchester United’s Joshua Zirkzee.
That preference has prompted Juventus to resume negotiations with Atletico as they assess their options for the forward line.
Sørloth’s career has also drawn attention through a recent Sportingpedia report, which identified the Atletico striker as the player with the most transfers in his career.
The report said he has completed 11 moves.
Possible Nico González Swap Discussed
Juventus and Atletico have again discussed the possibility of a swap arrangement involving Nico González.
The winger spent the 2025-26 season on loan at Atletico Madrid and wants to return there before the transfer window closes on September 1.

The two clubs had already examined a potential deal in June.
Those discussions took place before Giovanni Carnevali was appointed Juventus CEO and before Damien Comolli departed the club.
What The Sørloth And Gonzalez Talks Mean For Juventus
Juventus have resumed discussions with Atletico over Sørloth while continuing to explore options for a new centre-forward.
A possible arrangement involving González has been discussed alongside the pursuit of the Atletico striker.
For Juventus, the search is shaped by Spalletti’s wish for another attacking reinforcement with a more traditional centre-forward profile.
Sørloth is the player currently preferred to Zirkzee as the club consider their next move before the September 1 deadline.
