Serie A side Napoli are now keen on making a centre-back signing, with Alessandro Buongiorno having picked up an injury.
The Italian has had smooth sailing for the last few months, having not been at his best under Antonio Conte on a consistent basis during the 2025/26 campaign.
Gianluca Di Marzio has now reported that Napoli’s hunt for a new defender is now on.
They have four players on the shortlist, with one being Juventus’ Federico Gatti, who has been viewed from upclose by Giovanni Manna during their time together at Juve. Another name of interest is Chelsea’s Benoit Badiashile, amidst suggestions that an initial approach has been made.
A promising name is that of Lecce star Tiago Gabriel, who is undoubtedly going to get a big move at some point in the future. A new target is West Ham’s Jean-Clair Todibo, who has been followed by several Italian clubs in the past but could now depart the Hammers because of their relegation.
A final decision is yet to be made by Napoli, who could need a signing before the start of the season.
