Serie A side Juventus have previously been linked with a move for Roma’s Zeki Celik but a deal has now quickly been sealed.

Gianluca Di Marzio has reported that Juve was swooped in on the Turk before Roma could tie him down to a renewal. His contract ran out at the end of June and the Giallorossi were hoping to renew his stay. A deal was also close but an unexpected scenario opened up.

Juve have swooped in and Celik has already undergone a medical with the Bianconeri. A three-year deal is ready for him, with Ricky Massara and Giovanni Carnevali having quickly stepped up the efforts to sign the Turkey international.

Back-up right back sealed

Juve decided to not sign Emil Holm permanently after the loan at Bologna and they needed a right-back. Celik comes on a free, has European experience and has played many times in Serie A. While inconsistent, he has had some very good performances in the last two seasons and won’t complain about being a back-up. In a lot of ways, the move makes sense.
