As Serie A side Milan failed to qualify for the Champions League, major changes are now underway. Max Allegri’s future is now under serious threat and he is likely on his way out.

Get Italian Football News have looked at how he was at risk of a sack even with a Champions League qualification. Things are now much worse.

Daniele Longo has reported that Zlatan Ibrahimovic is pushing for Allegri’s sacking and he has voted strongly against it. He is desperate to have a new manager at the club and a decision could be made in the next few hours.

It is believed the relationship between the two has hit rock bottom in the last few months. Igli Tare and Giorgio Furlani are set to leave too, with RedBird now relying on Ibrahimovic to hire a new CEO, sporting director and a new manager.

Allegri will meet with Gerry Cardinale later today and this will likely spark the end of his second tenure at the San Siro.

Politics not a good sign

Milan have been an increasingly difficult club to work at due to the politics of the role of being a manager. Allegri has now seen the worst of it and Ibrahimovic’s push signals how he might just have too much power at the Rossoneri.

The problems at Milan are bigger than Allegri, Furlani or Tare. They start from the ownership and trickle down to Ibrahimovic, who hasn’t proven to be particularly great in his advisory role. There is a lack of a larger vision and there is no tactical identity, which could be the case even next season for the club.
