Niclas Fullkrug hasn’t quite managed to impress in his ongoing loan spell in Serie A at Milan. But the West Ham player could yet find another opportunity in the Italian top-flight.
It has been obvious that the German will return to the Hammers in the summer. Despite a cheap option to buy, the Rossoneri haven’t been keen on keeping him on a permanent basis.
Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Venezia are keen on a shocking move, having earned promotion to the Serie A after finishing top in the second division.
They are keen on the German, who the journalist expects to see return to West Ham. Venezia’s move is in the initial stages but it can take off, depending on the other suitors that come forward for the Germany international in the summer.
Serie A stay could help
While Venezia will benefit a lot from signing an experienced campaigner like Fullkrug, the player himself can recover a floundering career. At Milan, a major issue has been his lack of suitability to Max Allegri’s system and making a mark at Venezia will send a message that he is still capable of getting goals.
His stock has dropped quite a bit but he might have a good few years still left in him. He could be enjoying his life in Venice too, while leading their attack to possible survival next season.
