During recent interviews, Juventus CEO Damien Comolli has given the direct impression that the club’s summer transfer activity is going to be aggressive. They will look to make deals that will have immediate impacts to improve a squad that, up until recently, was on the outside looking in of the top four and had their Champions League qualification status in serious doubt.

It looks like business could very well be picking up on the Silva front.

According to Matteo Moretto on Fabrizio Romano’s Italian-language YouTube channel, Juventus have essentially made trying to lure Bernardo Silva to Turin as their top priority this summer. They have, again, recently been in contact with Silva’s agent, Jorge Mendes, and are very much open to offering him a sizable contract in hopes that the 31-year-old Portuguese midfielder will call Juventus as his next home. Moretto says that Silva is “perhaps the most attractive of the potential free agents” to clubs this summer, and that Juve’s qualification for the Champions League — they are currently five points clear of Como in fifth place — could go a long way in their attempt to sign Silva.

Silva has been linked with a potential move to other clubs around Europe as well as Major League Soccer in the United States as well as a potential massive pay day in Saudi Arabia.

You can watch the entire segment of Moretto talking about Juventus and Bernardo Silva here.

“Bernardo Silva is the ideal profile in which Juventus are insisting on,” Moretto said, adding that more contacts are set to take place to truly determine where things stand over a potential move. Juventus are clearly pushing to try and convince Silva to join them on a “free” transfer this summer, although all of the ancillary costs like agent fees and a likely big signing bonus are something to consider.

But Comolli and Juventus truly are making a push to sign Bernardo Silva.

It feels pretty safe to say at this point. It’s no longer just Italian media gossip in which they’re trying to drive up some sort of interest during an international break. This feels pretty genuine at this point — and Silva has since made things official with Manchester City when it comes to his expected exit following this season.

And if Silva truly is one of Juventus’ priorities for the 2026 summer mercato, then it speaks to what Luciano Spalletti is wnating to see from the club’s management to try and improve the squad. Adding a player like Silva would be a huge boon to Juventus’ much-maligned midfield both in terms of his still incredible quality but also the versatility that he brings to the table. Juve need that, and Silva would bring it to Turin without a doubt.
