Federico Dimarco heaped praise on Pio Esposito as Inter Milan came from behind to beat Pisa 6-2 on Friday.
Pio Esposito scored Inter’s third goal in first-half stoppage time after Alberto Gilardino’s side took a surprising 2-0 lead at the San Siro.
As bright as Esposito looked, it was Dimarco who claimed the Panini Player of the Match award after his starring role in the emphatic victory.
Dimarco – who came off the bench and netted the fourth – went as far as to suggest that his teammate is on track to earn legendary Nerrazzuri status.

Federico Dimarco On Inter Milan’s Comeback Win And Pio Esposito Praise
After Inter Milan beat Pisa 6-2, Federico Dimarco spoke to DAZN at the end of the topsy-turvy encounter. Insisting that his own mindset was key to his and Inter’s success.
“I wanted to win,” he said to reporters.
“We didn’t start well, but the important thing was to score at least one goal before half-time because we knew the second half would be long.”
“Thankfully we scored three. We did well and went on the attack. When you play so often, you can get the approach wrong, but it was important to turn it around and we did that well. We take the three points.”
On Arsenal target Pio Esposito – who was singled out for praise by the Curva Nord – Dimarco made a bold prediction when the youngster was compared to Christian Vieri.
“He still has to eat a lot of pasta,” he playfully said, before going on to add, “but he’s on the right path.”

Inter Milan’s Scudetto Chances
With Inter Milan toasting a six point lead at the top of the table, talk of regaining the Scudetto is beginning to accelerate among supporters and pundits alike.
Napoli pipped Inter to the title on the last day of the 2024-25 campaign. However, the Nerazzurri will be aiming to go one better this time around.
Under the guidance of Cristian Chivu, the Serie A giants have looked a cut above the rest. Chivu has witnessed 50 goals this term and his charges have the fifth-best defensive record.
Although that can be improved upon, their attacking prowess is unmatched. And much of that is owing to the continued excellence of Federico Dimarco and Pio Esposito.
