Juventus are looking to offload Teun Koopmeiners and the Juventus star is set to join Cristiano Ronaldo in Saudi Arabia.
Cristiano Ronaldo Wants Juventus Star In Saudi Arabia
The Bianconeri have been left underwhelmed by Koopmeiners’ performances since joining in August 2024 and this unrest has caught the attention of Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr.
Koopmeiners moved to Turin after captaining Atalanta to a historic Europa League trophy in 2024, as Juve spent €58.4million on the Dutchman.
Since then, the 27-year-old has gone on to register just eight goal contributions in 69 appearances across all competitions (5G + 3A) and has been utilized in a back-three under Luciano Spalletti.
Playing in the center back position is something Koopmeiners would not have expected when moving to Juventus, as the Dutchman registered 22 goal contributions as an attacking midfielder during his final season with Atalanta (2023/24).
Spalletti has been forced into this decision due to injuries, but it highlights how Koopmeiners is not valued as a vital member in the Juventus front-line.
The Dutch international could drop further down the pecking order during the January transfer window, as Juventus close in on Federico Chiesa and Koopmeiners may be considering his options.
Al Nassr are reportedly interested in signing the Juventus star and believe the Dutchman could bring the best out of Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Portuguese soccer icon will undoubtedly have some sort of power when it comes to Al Nassr’s transfer activity and Ronaldo could play a vital role in bringing Koopmeiners to Saudi Arabia.
Juventus Reveal Teun Koopmeiners Price Tag
Juventus may regret the €58.4m transfer fee that brought Koopmeiners to Turin, as the 27-year-old is yet to register a goal contribution this season.
The Bianconeri will be aware that making a return on investment for Koopmeiners is unlikely, but the Serie A side are hoping to minimize the overall loss.
According to reports, Juventus have set a €45m price tag on the former Atalanta star’s shoulders and will not consider any bid below €40m.
Luciano Spalletti is hoping to bring in some reinforcements this January, although a move for Adrien Bernabe is now unlikely due to a new deal with Parma – but the Bianconeri are still looking for some funds this month.
Koopmeiners still has over three-years remaining on his deal with Juve and this gives the Italian side a firm stance when it comes to negotiations.
