Cesc Fabregas is hoping to use his relationship with Arsenal to bring Ethan Nwaneri to Como for the remainder of this season.
Como Prepare Loan Move For Ethan Nwaneri
The Gunners are reportedly willing to let Ethan Nwaneri go out on loan for the rest of the 2025/26 campaign and the Englishman could be heading to Italy.
Nwaneri made headlines when he became the youngest player in Premier League history after coming off the bench for Arsenal in September 2022 at just 15 years and 181 days old.
Since then, the 18-year-old has made 50 appearances for the Gunners, scoring 10 goals along the way and is deemed to be one of the brightest prospects in Europe.
However, Nwaneri has not made a single start in the Premier League this season and his last appearance in England’s top-flight came in a two-minute cameo against Tottenham on November 23rd.
This lack of playing-time has caused Nwaneri to look for possible alternatives in January and Arsenal are willing to let the youngster leave on a six-month loan.
Como are said to be one of the front-runners to land Nwaneri this month, as Cesc Fabregas looks to use his relationship with Arsenal to his favor.
Similarly to Nwaneri, Fabrgeas holds a record at the Gunners as the Spaniard is the youngest goalscorer in club history – scoring against Wolves in the League Cup at just 16 years, 6 months and 28 days.
The Como boss could play a huge part in bringing Nwaneri to Como and the Serie A side are reportedly looking to bring the Englishman in for the rest of this season.
Fabregas, who has recently been tipped to become the next Manchester United manager, will face some stiff competition from a host of Premier League sides.
Premier League Sides Target Nwaneri
It may come as no surprise that multiple sides are looking to bring in Nwaneri for six-months, as the Englishman has proven his quality at the highest level.
Bournemouth are said to be monitoring the youngster’s situation as the Cherries look to find a suitable replacement for Antoine Semenyo after his move to Manchester City.
Andoni Iraola’s side have struggled in the league this season, as Bournemouth’s 3-2 win over Tottenham on January 7th ended a run of 11 matches without a victory.
Joining Bournemouth in the race for Nwaneri is Brentford, who are currently fifth in the Premier League and are enjoying a rich run of form under Keith Andrews.
The Bees are targeting the Arsenal youngster as Juventus are targeting Kevin Schade to fill in as cover for Kenan Yildiz and Brentford view Nwaneri as a perfect replacement.
Como are currently the only side outside of England that have expressed an interest in Nwaneri and Arsenal may prefer to send the youngster outside of the Premier League.
Talks over a permanent switch are extremely unlikely as Nwaneri still has four-years remaining on his deal and is viewed as a long-term project by the Gunners.
