Jamie Vardy has sensationally made a journalist eat their words after making history in Serie A.

Cremonese striker Vardy, 38, was named the top-flight’s player of the month for November earlier this week, becoming the first English player to win the award since its inception in 2019.
In doing so, he fended off fierce competition from the likes of Mike Maignan, Lautaro Martinez and David Neres.
After joining on a free transfer during the summer, the veteran started slowly under Davide Nicole before spectacularly bursting into form.
He has scored four goals in 10 appearances for the newly-promoted side, moving them 10 points clear of 18th.
Vardy featured in three league games last month and scored once against Juventus, earning himself the gong.
However, his move to Italy was initially greeted with suspicion. During Vardy’s first press conference, one reporter suggested that supporters in Italy would be “sceptical” about players nearing 40.
“We tend to say, where’s their motivation?” the reporter added. “How fit are they?”
But Vardy responded in style. “You must be one of the doubters,” he said. “You’re one I’ll have to prove wrong.”
He then added: “No, listen, for me, age is just a number. As long as my legs are doing exactly what they used to and still feel as fresh as they do, then I will carry on. I will be giving my all for this club.”

Jamie Vardy Hailed As ‘Great Champion’
The ace’s impressive form subsequently tipped over into December, when he scored a brace in a 3-1 victory against Bologna. After the game, Nicola said Vardy acts as a “point of reference” for his team-mates.
“As a coach, I can only say that great champions are incredibly simple people,” Nicola told DAZN. “They already know what they must do and how they must do it.
“They never show attitudes that aren’t constructive to the team.
“A champion differs from an ordinary player not only because he has immense qualities on the pitch, but also because he has the spirit and awareness of what he represents.
“A true champion never gets his attitude wrong. He’s self-confident and light-hearted, who always trains.”
Cremonese could now offer Vardy a new contract, with his current deal set to run down in June 2026.
