Adam Marusic could be on his way out of Lazio after the player’s agent reportedly offered the veteran to AC Milan.

That is according to TMW, who insist the 33-year-old is still some way off penning fresh terms with the Biancoceleste. A new deal is on the table but doesn’t meet the requirements of the Montenegrin defender.

Marusic’s contract expires in June and he was hoping for a long-term deal. However, Maurizio Sarri’s side are only willing to offer a year extension with a potential option of a further 12 months.

Adam Marusic Transfer News

Not only have AC Milan identified Alisson Becker, the Serie A giants are also in line to sign Adam Marusic. The Lazio full-back can start talking to potential suitors from New Year’s Day.

Marusic has been discussed with the Rossoneri’s hierarchy and a discounted move could occur next month. However, the Biancoceleste will endeavor to keep the Montenegro international in the capital until the end of the season.

It’s understood that Juventus are also in the running and are keeping a close eye on developments. With that said, Marco Palestra has been targeted as a priority which makes Milan’s quest somewhat smoother.

Will Adam Marusic Definitely Quit Lazio?

It’s not a guarantee that Adam Marusic will leave Lazio but it’s becoming increasingly likely. Especially as his contract dispute shows no signs of coming to a positive conclusion.

The main question that remains now is whether it’ll be next month or in the summer that he departs the Stadio Olimpico. Naturally, Maurizio Sarri will do all he can to keep him on board.

Financially, the two parties have no issues but it’s the duration of the new deal that is proving the major stumbling block. From AC Milan’s point of view, it’s expected to benefit them in the long-run.

Lazio’s Transfer Targets

Lazio’s interest in Giacomo Raspadori is set to go up a notch or too in the coming weeks. Even more so if Valentin ‘Taty’ Castellanos is sold to help raise funds.

That in itself has the potential to end the Biancoceleste’s transfer ban. The embargo was enforced just after Maurizio Sarri’s return to the Stadio Olimpico hot seat in the summer.

Elsewhere, the European hopefuls are also monitoring Anton Gaaei, Cucho Hernandez, David Watson and Napoli legend Lorenzo Insigne.
