Atalanta midfielder Ederson has stalled talks over a new deal as he eyes a move to the Premier League.

Premier League Side Prepare Bid For Ederson

Ederson could be parting ways with Atalanta during the January transfer window, with Manchester United ready to reignite their interest in the Brazilian.

The Red Devils have been linked with Ederson for multiple transfer windows, but the Premier League giants have failed to meet Atalanta’s asking price.

Ruben Amorim is looking to bring in a midfielder during the January transfer window and Ederson is high on the Portuguese coach’s shortlist.

However, Raffaele Palladino is hoping to keep the 25-year-old until the end of this season and the Serie A side will only consider a bid that exceeds €50million.

This fee could deter Manchester United from entering negotiations in the January window, but the Brazilian’s price-tag could drop next summer.

One factor that could play a part in Ederson’s career is the situation surrounding Ademola Lookman, as the Nigerian has been linked with a move away.

Atalanta have changed their stance on Lookman’s future in Bergamo, scrapping plans of a January sale following the Nigerian’s performance against Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League.

Despite this new mindset, the Nigerian could still push for a move away and if he were to leave the Serie A side in January then La Dea would not listen to any offers involving their Brazilian midfielder.

This interest from Manchester United has come at a poor time for Atalanta, as La Dea were in the process of offering Ederson a renewed deal in Bergamo.

Atalanta To Offer Ederson ‘Lucrative’ Deal

Ederson’s deal with Atalanta is set to expire in June 2027, meaning the Serie A side have started to prepare an extended contract as opposed to losing the Brazilian for a lower deal.

The 25-year-old is on an annual salary of €2.6m which is less than the likes of Mitchel Bakker, Gianluca Scamacca and Giorgio Scalvini.

The Brazilian midfielder is keen on receiving a substantial pay-rise if he decides to stay in Bergamo, however, La Dea will not be able to match Manchester United’s offer.

United’s interest in Ederson could intensify if Juventus pursue Mason Mount and Atalanta could be forced to make the 25-year-old one of the highest paid players in Serie A.

Since joining Atalanta for €22.9m in July 2022, Ederson has made 151 appearances for the Italian side and helped his side make history in 2024 by winning the Europa League.

His performances in the 2025/26 campaign so far have been below par, making eight appearances in Serie A since returning from injury, but the Brazilian is expected to start in Atalanta’s upcoming league clash against Fiorentina.
