Multiple Serie A sides are willing to trigger the release clause for Antoine Semenyo, as the Bournemouth star continues to shine in the Premier League.
Antoine Semenyo Release Clause Attracts Serie A Sides
Antoine Semenyo has been one of the best players in England during the 2025/26 season and the Ghanaian has garnered interest from a host of European sides.
This attraction has been amplified in recent weeks as Semenyo’s release clause in the January transfer window has been revealed and the Bournemouth star will be available for €73.9 million.
On paper this seems like a substantial transfer fee, however, the 25-year-old’s performances for Bournemouth have resembled a player that could be worth over €100m.
In July 2025, Semenyo signed a new five-year deal with Bournemouth, appearing to commit his future to the Cherries – but this release clause means his time on the South Coast could be cut short.
Semenyo has contributed to nine goals in 11 Premier League matches this season (6G + 3A), playing every minute in England’s top-flight and sits third in the goal-scoring rankings.
His performances have caused a huge stir in England, with the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal looking to sign Semenyo in the January transfer window.
Spurs have been linked with multiple players as Thomas Frank looks to build on a mixed start to the season and Tottenham are reportedly interested in Gleison Bremer from Juventus.
Although Semenyo’s preferred option is a move to a top Premier League side, like Tottenham, the Ghanaian would consider a switch outside of England in 2026.
If the Bournemouth star does look towards a top European side, then a move to Serie A could be the most viable option as a host of Italian sides are monitoring Semenyo’s situation.
Inter Milan Consider Antoine Semenyo Move
The Nerazzurri are currently in pole position in Serie A, sitting top of the table after 11 matches and appear to have found their feet under Cristian Chivu.
Inter have also been on fine form in the Champions League this season, winning each of their four matches and conceding just one goal along the way.
Despite this run of good form, Inter are expected to make some changes in the January transfer window, with multiple arrivals and exits predicted.
Hakan Calhanoglu has been linked with a move to Galatasaray multiple months now after an in-house issue at the FIFA Club World Cup, but Chivu has insisted that Inter Milan must not sell the Turkish international.
However, the club may be willing to offload the star midfielder in order to fund a move for Antoine Semenyo, as the Ghanaian’s €73.9m release clause is slightly out of reach for Inter.
The Bournemouth star has spent time on both sides of the pitch this season, making him a versatile threat and a suitable addition to Chivu’s aggressive and high-pressing style.
Antoine Semenyo To Replace Rafael Leao
Inter Milan are not the only team in the Italian city that could trigger Semenyo’s release clause in January, as AC Milan are reportedly considering Semenyo as a replacement for Rafael Leao.
The Portuguese star was close to leaving the Rossoneri during the summer transfer window after attracting interest from Bayern Munich – but the two sides could not agree on a fee.
Leao has struggled with multiple injuries during the 2025/26 season so far, but has still managed to register five goal contributions in seven league appearances (4G + 1A).
Massimiliano Allegri has utilized the 26-year-old in a slightly different position this season, playing in a more central role and this may have frustrated Leao.
If the Portuguese international decides to move on from Milan next-year, then Allegri will be keen on finding a suitable replacement right away.
The Rossoneri were Serie A’s biggest spenders during the recent summer transfer window, forking-out €159m and bringing in the likes of Adrien Rabiot, Luka Modric and Christopher Nkunku.
Milan are looking to back Allegri once again in January after a strong start to the season and signing Semenyo would be a major statement.
