Welcome to a brand new work week. And congratulations for getting through whatever the heck the Italian national team decided to do after going up 1-0 against Norway because that was … yeah, that was something all right.
Sure, Italy was never going to get a win by nine goals that they needed to automatically qualify for the 2026 World Cup. However … let’s just not go there.Why? Because after looking good and going ahead, the way Italy just fell apart after that was just a clear sign of where the level of this national team currently is.
And that’s not good.
So, we’ll see what happens in a few months when the play-off round takes place. Hopefully it’s not the same kind of mess that we’ve seen the last two times we’ve had that same exact thought. Or else, tic-tac-toe and it’s three World Cups missed in a row.
