With January edging ever closer, Friday’s Serie A transfer rumors suggest a number of players could be on the move.

The mid-way point of 2025-26 isn’t far away and head coaches across Italy will already have an idea of what areas of their squad’s that need a revamp.

FootItalia has assessed five of the most prominent names linked with moves to and from Italy. And we will also assess their chances of them actually happening.

Ranking The Latest Serie A Transfer Rumors

Davide Bartesaghi To Barcelona (4/10)

AC Milan left-back Davide Bartesaghi has emerged as a target for Barcelona as the LaLiga giants aim to install a new defender to their ranks.

Hansi Flick views the 19-year-old Milan prodigy as an ideal candidate to be molded into a center-back. However, Milan already view him as indispensable so a deal won’t be easy to navigate from Flick’s perspective.

Bartesaghi has impressed this season and has six appearances to his name in all competitions. A January deal is extremely unlikely so Barca could test the Rossoneri’s resolve in the summer.

The Italy Under 21 star has a very bright future ahead of him. It’s highly doubtful Max Allegri will part ways with the former Atalanta youth player but it’s certainly worth keeping an eye on.

Jonathan David To Bayern Munich (7/10)

The latest Jonathan David transfer news has revealed that Bayern Munich are interested in the Juventus forward. Although the Canadian star only moved to the Bianconeri in the summer, an exit appears imminent.

David has scored just once in Serie A so far this season. That strike came in the season opener against Parma. Although he has started most games under the recently-departed Igor Tudor, David has struggled in Italy.

New head coach Luciano Spalletti may well want to keep David on board. However, a permanent deal in January will generate much-needed funds.

Bayern – alongside Europa League winners Tottenham – are closely monitoring the 25-year-old’s situation. David could be available for approximately €45million.

Kobbie Mainoo To Napoli (8/10)

A Kobbie Mainoo Napoli transfer has been gathering traction for most of the season and a switch in January is very likely. Especially as the youngster has fallen down the pecking order at Manchester United.

Mainoo tried to force an exit towards the end of the summer but a move failed to materialize. Now, the Serie A champions are set to try and prize the midfield ace away from Old Trafford on a loan deal.

The need for reinforcements has heightened owing to the Kevin De Bruyne injury suffered in the matchday 8 victory over Inter Milan.

Mainoo would likely be very interested in linking up with former teammates Scott McTominay and Rasmus Hojlund. However, Gli Azzurri would need to move quickly as a number of clubs will try to snare Mainoo in January.

Yves Bissouma To Juventus (7/10)

If Yves Bissouma remains at Tottenham after the January transfer window shuts, it’ll be something of a mystery. Not only has the Mali international entertained a number of disciplinary issues, his injury record has hampered his progress under Thomas Frank.

Nonetheless, redemption awaits in the form of Juventus. Serie A ‘s most successful side is expected to be active in the winter and Bissouma provides an ideal solution to boost Luciano Spalletti’s midfield options.

That’s assuming he can put his fitness and injury doubts behind him. The 29-year-old was linked with the Bianconeri in the summer but a move never came to fruition.

Juve is very likely to go back in for Bissouma and a loan deal is the most viable option. His contract is up in the summer so possibly a cut-price deal can be negotiated. Either way, a move to the Allianz is surely a matter of ‘when’ and not ‘if.’

Serie A Transfer Rumors – Joshua Zirkzee To AC Milan (7/10)

If the latest Joshua Zirkzee transfer news is to be believed, a whole host of Italy’s elite are pursuing the former Bologna forward.

A return to Serie A looks likely and AC Milan have emerged as one of the frontrunners for the Dutchman’s signature. However, they will face competition from the likes of Juventus and Como.

Further afield, English Premier League strugglers West Ham and LaLiga side Sevilla are also plotting a January swoop. Zirkzee – who has struggled for game time at Manchester United – is reportedly keen to leave on loan.

Milan are strongly considering a reshuffle at top and may move on Santiago Gimenez to make way for Zirkzee. If Max Allegri can guarantee minutes on the pitch, that could well be the deciding factor that sways the 24-year-old who is desperate to feature in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
