AC Milan are reportedly monitoring Tottenham Hotspur star, Guglielmo Vicario, as the Italian could part ways with the Lilywhites in 2026.

Will Guglielmo Vicario Leave Tottenham?

The Italian shot-stopper could be on his way out of North London in 2026, as the Lilywhites are reportedly looking to sign a new goalkeeper for the 2026/27 season.

Vicario joined Spurs in July 2023 and has gone on to make 84 appearances, helping Tottenham win their first trophy since 2008 with a 1-0 victory over Manchester United in last season’s Europa League final.

During his time in the Premier League Vicario has been consistently applauded as one of the best goalkeepers in England, but faced criticism during a tricky spell last year.

Despite this, Thomas Frank has used the Italian as his number one this season, with Vicario starting in every Premier League match so far – keeping three clean sheets.

However, each of Vicario’s clean sheets this season came in the opening four matches and the Lilywhites have seen a slight dip in form, being held by Wolves and Brighton.

Vicario is currently away on international duty, as Italy face Estonia and Israel in two crucial World Cup qualifiers and the 29-year-old will be hoping to earn his fifth cap for the Azzurri.

The former Empoli star has only been away for a couple of days and his future with Tottenham has been thrown into question, as Spurs are reportedly targeting a move for Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

The German goalkeeper has been out for multiple months with a back injury and in his absence, Hansi Flick has utilized Wojciech Szczesny between the sticks.

Bringing in the Barcelona shot-stopped would put Vicario’s position as the number one and could push the Italian out of the door during the 2026 summer transfer window.

Are AC Milan Interested In Guglielmo Vicario?

The Rossoneri could consider a move for the Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper next summer, as Milan were close to selling their number one in Mike Maignan during the summer window.

After initially agreeing a deal with Chelsea, the French international looked set to join the Blues, however, the move collapsed after Milan and Chelsea could not agree on a fee.

Maignan’s deal in Italy is set to expire in June 2026, meaning he would be available to enter pre-contract negotiations during the January window.

Milan have enjoyed a strong start to the season, with Christian Pulisic being the star of the show and the USMNT star is set to be offered a new deal – something that Maignan is unlikely to receive.

If the 30-year-old does part ways with Milan next summer, then Massimiliano Allegri will be keen on bringing in a player with Serie A experience and Vicario could be a strong option.

The Spurs shot-stopper made 73 appearances in Italy’s top division during his spells with Cagliari and Empoli, putting him as a strong candidate for Milan.
