With the Milan vs Como fixture moving closer to being played in Australia, how much will NY-based supporters expect to pay to attend?

On October 6, UEFA approved the potential landmark move to host the game in Australia. However, the governing body reinforced the fact it would be a one off and stressed that “league matches should be played on home soil.”

They also explained that the game is an “exceptional basis.” Hence why they will allow it to be played outside of Italy. Simultaneously, the LaLiga clash between Villarreal and Barcelona is set to take place in Miami this December.

Why Is The Milan Vs Como Fixture Set To Take Place In Perth?

The reason for the Milan vs Como Serie A fixture being played in Perth is owing to the 2026 Winter Olympics. The Rossoneri’s San Siro Stadium will host both the opening Olympic and Paralympic ceremonies.

During pre-season, it’s common practice to see some of Europe’s biggest teams play in the likes of Asia and America. Including Max Allegri’s side as well as the likes of Inter, Juventus and Napoli.

History is set to be made in Perth when Allegri’s men take on Cesc Fabregas’ Como troops in February with vital points up for grabs. Last season, the Biancoblu finished just two places below the Diavolo in the Serie A rankings.

What Stadium Is Set To Host Milan Vs Como?

The venue that has been earmarked is Perth’s Optus Stadium. Opening in January 2018, the Optus is traditionally used for Australian rules football and cricket.

Therefore, an exception is set to be made for the weekend of February 8, 2026 to accommodate the Milan vs Como Serie A soccer fixture. In terms of capacity, just over 61,000 fans can attend the Optus.

The stadium has also been praised for its vast number of food and beverage outlets. There are over 50 in total so supporters wishing to grab a refreshment or two won’t have to wait long. Plus, there are a number of TV’s so fans can follow the on-pitch action.

We’ve identified JFK Airport in NY to fly to Perth Airport on February 5. The return flight is for February 10 and there will be one layover in Qatar for each journey.

The cost to travel via Qatar Airways for one adult sitting in economy is $1,357. Naturally, hotel costs will vary depending on where supporters want to stay but the average for five nights via booking.com is approximately $641.

Of the accommodations checked, all of them lie less than 2km from the Optus Stadium. Other miscellaneous costs for food, drink and travel will also vary.

Supporters would likely spend on average close to $1,000-$1,500 during their stay. That would also include the match ticket as well as any merchandise bought from the ground.

Therefore, a NY-based soccer supporter wishing to watch the Milan vs Como fixture Down Under will be spending anything between $3,300-$4,000.
