According to the latest Jamie Vardy transfer news, the Leicester City legend is in talks about a surprise move to Cremonese.
Soccer supporters were quick to share their views on social media about the potential switch to the Serie A newbies. Vardy has never played outside England in his pro career so the mooted transfer would represent a new venture.
The 38-year-old became a free agent earlier this summer when his contract with the Foxes expired. Vardy spent 12 years at the King Power Stadium and scored 200 goals for the club.

Jamie Vardy Transfer News
Reports from Sky Italia suggested that Jamie Vardy has been in talks with newly-promoted Cremonese. The general feeling is that negotiations have gone well so far.
In fact, the veteran forward is warming to the idea of moving to the Stadio Giovanni Zini. In July, Como was interested in signing Vardy but that has since fizzled out.
That has essentially left the path clear for Davide Nicola’s side to swoop in and potentially pull of one of the most surprisng moves in Serie A this summer.
What Other Clubs Were Interested In Jamie Vardy?
Alongside Como’s interest, Scottish Premiership giants Celtic had also shown a liking in Jamie Vardy. It appeared the Hoops were going to win the race for the 38-year-old forward.
However, a reunion with former boss Brendan Rodgers is now extremely unlikely owing to Cremonese. The Serie A side appears to be the more attractive destination for the former Leicester star.
Elsewhere, Napoli were mooted about making a move for Vardy to fill the void left by Romelu Lukaku. The Belgian is expected to be out until late November through injury.
Jamie Vardy’s Accolades And Major Honors
Jamie Vardy left Leicester this season as a club legend. In fact, he is also an English Premier League hero after his exploits for the Foxes.
Vardy scored 200 goals in total for the club from 500 appearances in all competitions. 145 of those came in the top-flight and he also chipped in with 50 assists.
Back in 2015-16, Vardy scored in 11 consecutive PL games which is still a record to this day. He also steered Leicester to a historic title win under the guidance of Claudio Ranieri.
Not only that, Vardy finished as the league’s top scorer in 2019-20 and also won the FA Cup a year later. The forward also has two EFL Championship successes to his name.
Reaction To Jamie Vardy’s Potential Cremonese Transfer
Naturally, views around Jamie Vardy’s proposed move to Cremonese were met with surprising and mixed reviews. One user on X (formerly Twitter) said it was the ‘weirdest transfer of the century.’
Another indicated it would make the Serie A newcomers the 2025-26 Scudetto winners. Exactly ten seasons on from Leicester’s miracle Premier League triumph.
Another joked: ‘Thank goodness he didn’t joined before they played Milan. It would have been a blood bath.’
Other users weren’t sure whether it would turn out to be a good move. ‘Vardy’s story has always been about legacy at Leicester, not chasing a late adventure abroad,’ said Daniel.
Another simply stated ‘that’s a downgrade.’
